Bagasbas Lighthouse Beach Resort, Daet, Camarines Norte
Bagasbas Lighthouse Beach Resort is a prime resort in Daet, Camarines Norte. We stayed here during our first ever trip to the Bicol Region. Bagasbas Lighthouse is not exactly located on the beach but is a few steps away from it.
Surfing and kiteboarding in Bagasbas beach
Bagasbas beach is well-known for its strong waves, that's why it has become a popular surfing destination. Other water activities that could be done here are kiteboarding, skimboarding and sea kayaking. Because of the sea's powerful waves, we were not able to swim in Bagasbas. We also did not try surfing and kiteboarding since the kids were with us. We just contented ourselves with watching the other surfers and kiteboarders. Good thing Bagasbas Lighthouse Beach Resort had superb accommodations so even though we were not able to lounge in the beach or do water activities, we still had a pleasant stay in Daet.
We stayed in the Oceanview Family Room that costs PhP 3950 per night, good for 4-6 persons. The room had 2 double size beds, LCD TV, refrigerator, and tea maker; the best part was that the bathroom had a bath tub! If on a tight budget, Bagasbas Lighthouse also offers standard trailer rooms, good for 2-3 persons and costs PhP 1750 per night. The trailer room also has a double size bed, LCD TV, refrigerator, and shower.

During our stay in Daet, we had all of our meals in Catherine's, the in-house restaurant of Bagasbas Lighthouse.
Of course we tried Bicol specialty dishes such as Bicol Express (pork and chilis cooked in coconut milk) and Laing (taro leaves cooked in coconut milk).
We also had fish sinigang (fish in tamarind broth) and grilled fish with mango salsa.
When kids are around, chicken (roasted or fried) and pork barbecue are sure to be on the table!
Bagasbas Lighthouse Beach Resort is an ideal destination for those who seek water adventure. There are many water activities to choose from such as kiteboarding, kayaking and surfing. Bagasbas Lighthouse offers private lessons for these activities. Surfing lesson costs PhP 150 per hour and board rental is at PhP 150 per hour while half day rental is at PhP 350. For kiteboarding, private lesson costs PhP 2000 per hour while equipment rental for one day costs PhP 3000.
On the other hand, Bagasbas beach provides a laidback ambience. Since we did not try the water activities, we just strolled along the beach and observed the local way of life in Daet. While walking around, we stumbled upon an important part of our history. You may also like to read my post on Basgasbas Beach.
