According to the Department of Trade and Industry, Laguna is one huge showcase of Southern Tagalog craftsmanship. Unlike other provinces with only one (or a few) specialized product, Laguna has many fine crafts to offer. The more popular ones are the Barong Tagalog of Lumban, footwear of Liliw, woodcarving of Paete, and pandan bags and mats of Luisiana.
Agricultural products are the signature crops/products of some towns such as the pineapple of Calauan, lanzones of Paete, and ornamental/garden plants of Calamba, Los Baños, and Bay.
Woodcarving of Paete
Woodcarving is the main industry in Paete, Laguna. Skilled craftsmen and artisans have practiced woodcarving here since the Spanish times.
Calauan, Laguna is widely known as "Home of the Sweetest Pineapple."
Gardens with ornamental plants are a beautiful sight in the towns of Calamba, Los Baños, and Bay in Laguna, Philippines. Located along the national highway of the mentioned towns, these gardens sell garden plants and decorative stone sculptures.
Liliw town in Laguna province is a paradise for shoe lovers! There are about 70-80 stores selling tsinelas (slippers) and shoes along the main street, Gat Tayaw Avenue. Liliw is considered as the "Footwear Capital of Laguna" due to its thriving footwear industry.
Pandan bags and mats
Luisiana's residents express their creativity through various products made from pandan leaves such as colorful bags, bayong (native bags) in different sizes, native hats, mats, coin purses, wallets, and other fanciful items.
