David's Tea House is a restaurant that serves Chinese cuisine. It has many branches in Manila
(including SM Malls) and other provinces. In Laguna, it's restaurant is located in Calamba
David's Tea House has an extensive menu or dish offerings - every type of food is available
such as chicken, pork, beef, seafood, hotpot, and vegetable dishes; roasting and cold cuts;
sizzling plates; hot soups; beancurd; congees; fried rice and toppings; noodles; dimsum
specialties; and desserts.
For dinner, we had assorted cold cuts as appetizer (Soy Cold Cuts). Included here are seaweeds,
roasted pork asado, and century egg.
Hot prawn salad (PhP 395) was also served as appetizer. I could'nt get enough of this salad, it was very delicious with just the right combination of sweet, salty and tangy.
We ordered Yang Chow Fried Rice (costs PhP 180 per serving) and it was very tasty. For the main course, we had various meat dishes.
The beef in Beef with Oyster Sauce (costs PhP 240 per serving) was very tender and juicy. This dish was consumed in a matter of minutes!
Roasted pork asado (PhP 190) was very yummy - it tasted like sweet ham and the kids really loved this. David's Braised Pata Tim (PhP 330) was not so remarkable. It tasted just like any ordinary pata tim for me.
Crispy Fried Chicken (PhP 220 for half and PhP 430 for whole chicken) will always be included in our meals whenever the kids are with us. David's fried chicken was a bit bland but the skin was "crispy and tasty" so it was OK for the kids.
The Fried Lapu-Lapu (grouper) with pine nut in sweet and sour sauce (PhP 395) was also delicious although it tasted too sweet for me and I did'nt notice the pine nuts at all.
Lastly, we had pancit canton (David's Special Noodles, costs PhP 150) and it has a uniquely delicious taste compared with other ordinary noodles.
For dessert, we were served Almond Jelly with Lychee (PhP 70 per serving) and at that time I was able to enjoy this dessert. The almond jelly was yummy and there was one cherry included as a treat.
Overall, the Chinese dishes served in David's Tea House were delicious. The prices were also mid-range and were reasonable/affordable. On the other hand, the interior of the restaurant was a bit small and crowded although the amenities are relatively new and clean.
