Exotik Garden Restaurant
At Exotik Restaurant in Kalayaan, Laguna, you can let go of your wild side! Bayawak (monitor lizard) or snake for lunch? How about frog, baboy damo (wild boar) or crocodile for dinner? As its name suggests, Exotik Restaurant serves exotic foods/dihes but for the less adventurous ones, there are regular meals that are served in Exotik such as pancit canton, rice meals, and viands like crispy pata, fried chicken, and bulalo.
The "normal" dishes here are excellent and very delicious! I can't say the same though for the exotic foods since I'm not brave enough to try them. The price of the dishes is mid-range, ranging from PhP 200-350 per order. The restaurant's ambience is also great. You can choose to dine in a bahay kubo by climbing a couple of steps or you may opt to stay at the ground floor in the main restaurant.
A snake named Samantha will also greet you upon your arrival, but don't worry because she's inside a cage. There is a pasalubong shop at the restaurant's main entrance where you can buy purses made from forg skins, woodcrafts made from Paete, and other snack items. Warning: the prices of the woodcrafts are expensive; if you have the time and means, just go directly to Paete town where woodcarving is the main industry.
Exotik Restaurant is located at Barrio Longos, Kalayaan, Laguna. From Manila, you have to pass by Pagsanjan and Caliraya in order to get there. If you have your own car, drive to Pagsanjan town plaza then turn left (in front of the Pagsanjan church); drive straight ahead until you see the huge Exotik sign board on your right side. If you have to take public transportation, ride the HM Transit or Green Star Bus (either at the Cubao bus terminal or Taft terminal) then get off at Pagsawitan in Santa Cruz, Laguna. From there, ride a jeepney going to Paete; get off at Exotik Restaurant (you will not miss it because of its huge sign).
