Ted’s in Santa Cruz, Laguna is a vintage-style restaurant that offers typical American food such as steaks, burgers with fries, pastas and desserts. Ted’s also serves an all-day breakfast menu that includes eggs, bacon, waffles and steak.
Upon entering Ted’s, we were greeted by the courteous staff at the food counter, where we placed our orders and paid our bill. There was a wide variety of appetizers, steaks, pastas, salads, and burgers to choose from. Some items from the menu:
- Burger and Fries (Classic Quarter Pound) – PhP 185
- Burger and Fries (Ted’s Quarter Pound) – PhP 235
- Burger and Fries (Ted’s Double Quarter) – PhP 300
- Buffalo Wings – PhP 155
- Chicken Fingers – PhP 155
- Hungarian Sausage Sandwich – PhP 165
- US Rib Eye Steak – PhP 295
- Angus Rib Eye Steak – PhP 495
- Baby Back Ribs – PhP 395
- Norwegian Salmon – PhP 295
While waiting for our food to arrive, we amused ourselves with the various vintage items adorning the place. There was also a corner where items for sale were displayed, such as the Ted’s mug which costs PhP 75.
After about 30-40 minutes of waiting time, our food finally arrived. The appetizer was first served – beer-battered fish and chips (PhP 135). We finished this yummy dish in a matter of seconds!
The Pesto Pork Chop (PhP 195) was a bit bland so we had to season it with chili and steak sauce. But on the plus side, it was perfectly cooked and was moist and juicy.
The US Angus Beef Belly (PhP 165) was actually like bacon strips. It was greasy but tasty! Bacon lovers will definitely like this dish.
Perhaps the best dish that we had at Ted’s was the Angus Short Ribs (PhP 295). It was really tender and delicious, and seasoned just right.
For a sweet ending to our filling meal, we had Chocolate Lava (PhP 125) and Blueberry Cheesecake (PhP 90). The Chocolate Lava consisted of a chocolate cupcake with hot chocolate syrup inside it, and then topped with vanilla ice cream. That combination was just intense!
On the other hand, the blueberry cheesecake was a bit disappointing. It tasted like some “extenders” were added to the mix.
Overall, Ted’s is a nice place to dine in – cozy ambiance and great food at reasonable prices.
